118,000 sq. ft recreation center facility
is designed for the city of Atlanta, Bureau of parks and recreation.
First floor has indoor competition swimming pool and children’s
pool with swimmers seating, swimmers lounge, computer room,
lifeguard room, clinic and storage. Lockers and shower rooms
are conveniently located for adults and children. Additional
facilities are; Concession room, break room for staff, practice
gymnasium, racquet ball court, weight room, games room, competition
gymnasium with spectator seating, lockers and shower rooms
for gymnasium users and public restrooms.
The second floor has a multi-purpose room for 400 people which
can be divided into two rooms with a separate kitchen and
storage. Additionally, this level has classroom, computer
training room, dance room, art and crafts room with kiln area,
running track above the practice gymnasium, competition swimming
pool’s spectator seating, administrative office and
public restrooms.
Exterior building material is split face CMU, brick and stucco.
Vertical circulation is provided by stairs and elevator. The
facility is ADA compliant.
